Keeping up with the Joneses.
Savvy business owners know who their competition is, what pricing they offer, and how they provide their products or services to their customers. They know how they measure up when compared with the competition’s customer service, reputation, and quality.
Do you know how the websites compare?
Check out your competition’s presence on the web every 3 months. Make sure the differences between your company and theirs are crystal clear on your own website. Highlight your strengths and point out the differences (without being specific, of course!) so your prospects will understand why your company is the best choice.
Keep the content fresh. Make it obvious that your site is updated regularly. Then the prospect will wonder if the other guys are as on-top-of-things as you are.
Focus on customer service – make it easier for your customers to contact you, get order status, or ask a question than it is on those other sites. Just because you got the customer the first time doesn’t guarantee you’ll keep them. Give them tools the other guys don’t have, so that it’s easier for them to do business with you.
